{"id":95,"date":"2026-05-18T13:35:51","date_gmt":"2026-05-18T13:35:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/earthshiptd.co.uk\/?page_id=95"},"modified":"2026-05-18T13:51:39","modified_gmt":"2026-05-18T13:51:39","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/earthshiptd.co.uk\/?page_id=95","title":{"rendered":"About"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">About the project<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">EarthshipTD is an ecologically themed, satirical Tower Defense game in which the player is given an green and lush island to defend against horrific abominations of creatures, Oil Monsters, made by fusing stolen animals with Oil, by using Plant Towers, created by fusing Plants with Towers and Technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">EarthshipTD is Sam Cox&#8217;s Final Year project for the Games Design and Art course at Winchester School of Art. Sam spent the first couple of months making a design document and prototype for the project, which can be found here: <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.wsagames.com\/sc18g23-yr3\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/sites.wsagames.com\/sc18g23-yr3\/\">Semester 1 website<\/a>. Sam started production work on the game in late January, 2026. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">About the creator<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sam Cox is a Game Design student at Winchester School of Art, part of the University of Southampton. Sam started creating games in 2021 when he learned Unity to make a game for his EPQ, <a href=\"https:\/\/sam-cox.itch.io\/stainless-space\">StainlessSpace<\/a>, and for his Computing course in 6th form, <a href=\"https:\/\/sam-cox.itch.io\/polycaves\">polyCaves<\/a>. Sam undertook a Foundation Year in Digital Arts at Solent University where he developed his skills in the Unreal Engine, and created another course project, <a href=\"https:\/\/sam-cox.itch.io\/polydungeons\">polyDungeons<\/a>.
